People are turning to social media to talk about their struggles with inflation. That is how a TikTok video ended up on the Wall Street Silver page, and the tweet got over 5.2 million views in less than two days.
The video shows a woman trying to figure out how she spent 115 dollars when she bought only a few necessities. The comment section echoed her sentiments.
Twitter users share their thoughts on the inflation
A Twitter user wrote, “I bought $90 worth of groceries that I swear would have been $30 just two years ago.” This is one of the most retweeted comments, with another adding, “$9 for a dozen of eggs. It was $1.50 before the pandemic. Yes, girlfriend, inflation is real, and it’s scary.”
Another woman echoed what many shared:
“My husband and I keep very strict records of our spending, and we have been spending 40% more on groceries every month since March 2022.”
A man wrote, “She hasn’t even gotten to the produce yet. It’s easily doubled.”

It soon turned into a political war
Despite Covid and the war in Ukraine, many were quick to turn the blame on the Biden administration.
One woman wrote, “Does anybody still think it is not Biden’s fault to cause this inflation? We need Trump to be back in the White House.”
One of the best-rated comments said: “BUT BIDEN SAYS INFLATION WENT DOWN THIS WOMAN (AND THE REST OF THE COUNTRY) ARE LYING.”

Naturally, some questioned the women’s choices, while others advised her to shop elsewhere.
Someone commented: “that frozen fruit blend is a VERY expensive choice for smoothies and is probably more than 10% of her bill alone.”
Another person quickly pointed out: “Inflation, yes, but notice she stopped herself when saying what that little box is. That was probably something pricey.”
This person also had a question, “Why does someone need that much ranch dressing, though? That’s a luxury, not a necessity in my house.”
