Son Admits He Slept with His Father's Girlfriend - Their Relationship Will Never Be the Same Again

Every family has its secrets. Secrets that if someone found out, may tear the entire family apart. We like to believe that the people we trust the most have nothing to hide from us and are usually very disappointed when we find out otherwise.

One man had to face the consequences of losing his father (twice) because he slept with his dad’s girlfriend.

Man Had A Really Rough Childhood, Including Never Knowing His Father

On a "TrueOffMyChest" subreddit, a man detailed his experiences with sleeping with his father's girlfriend after having finally created some semblance of a relationship with his previously imprisoned father.

The story starts off kind of rough. The man reveals that his childhood was heartbreaking and unsavory. Since he was 2 years old, his father had been incarcerated for murder, and he didn’t get out until the man was 16 (he’s now 24).

He explains that growing up, his mother slept around with various men, and she apparently didn’t have great taste as a general rule.

The man explains that though he was never physically abandoned, he felt emotionally abandoned by his mother. Believing that she chose herself and other men over taking care of her son.

With his father being incarcerated for 14 years, he didn’t know much about him except the stories his mom told him. She described his father as being abusive, so when his dad reached out to him one day to meet, he hesitated.

He Eventually Meets His Father For The First Time Since He Was 2

However, he eventually decided to meet the man and was surprised that he was nothing like the stories he was told.

He describes his father as “smart, charming, and very charismatic” and that he was “nothing like what I expected”.

They hit it off really well and their relationship took off from there.

He continues by explaining that he met 49-year-old Karmen, his dad’s girlfriend, in 2014 after his dad invited him over to hang out and drink.

Things start to change

He explains that it was typical for his dad to have a new girl over (much like his mom), so when he first saw Karmen, he didn’t think much of her. Figuring that it wouldn’t be long before she was swapped out for someone new.

But things started to change.

They Started Developing A Relationship

His relationship with the woman started to develop further, and she started becoming something like a mother figure in his eyes. He was also finding it harder and harder to lie to her about his dad’s whereabouts whenever he was out “working”(which he explains that he wasn’t working…being such a charmer and all).

The first time

The first time anything happened between him and Karmen was in 2019 when OP (Original Poster) was 21.

Karmen’s father had passed away, and she was in a very vulnerable position. Crying over his death and needing to be comforted through this hard time. She tried to contact OP’s father, but of course, he was out that night, so she only had his son to rely on.

Talking and drinking

He tried to console her by talking and drinking and letting her express how she felt. By the end of the night, she had gotten pretty drunk, and OP had to carry her to bed, where she asked him to stay the night.

They ended up doing the deed the following morning.

OP explained that his father recently found out in 2021, and the relationship he once had with his father has now changed. He says, “things haven't been the same between the two of us since”.

Therapy for everyone

Some Redditors expressed condolences for OP’s rough childhood, while others…well, one user said everyone in the story needed therapy.
