Online opinions are divided following a viral TikTok video posted by @whateverpod, which has raised the question of whether makeup is really necessary for women or if they should ditch it and embrace their natural beauty instead.
“I don't like makeup,” declared one woman in the podcast, “I'm against makeup.”

The complex ingredients makeup contains is another reason she doesn’t like it, which can be harmful to the skin when absorbed. She provided an example of reading the ingredients on a foundation bottle and not even being able to pronounce them.
Finally, the woman said that putting makeup that contains a “bunch of cr-p” on your face could make the skin worse, leading to the need to buy more to cover up the damage.

Although this argument sounds compelling, it ended up triggering many people.
Some viewers noted that the woman in the video seemed to be wearing mascara and other makeup products, with one curious person asking, “What mascara she wearing?”
“It looks like she was wearing makeup,” a second added.
“Either she has the most perfect skin ever or she is in fact wearing makeup,” a third commented.
“But she bleaches her hair? Lol,” a fourth questioned.
“The way she keeps looking at the guy for validation,” a fifth noted.
“Most of the food you eat has ingredients that you can’t pronounce,” a sixth pointed out.

Others disagreed with the woman's argument that makeup is a means of hiding insecurities, arguing that many women wear makeup purely for aesthetic reasons and are equally comfortable with or without it, with one commenter adding, “It’s adding to our natural beauty babe.”
Some viewers could relate to the other women's reactions in the video. One wrote, “The look of the other girls it was me watching this video,” while another chimed in, “I love the way that the other girls are like lowkey judging.”
