Boyfriend Sends $7 Venmo Request For Medicine He Bought For His Sick GF

One TikToker, who goes by the name Jackie, recently shared a video detailing the time her boyfriend sent her a request on Venmo for $7 after he bought her cold medicine.

The video begins with another TikToker who goes by Jacklyn, explaining the time her boyfriend requested a Venmo from her after he bought her a cheesesteak. The text overlay read: “to my future bf: pls don't do this to me."

Woman Is Shocked To See The Request Since She and Her BF Have Been Together For 4-Years

Jackie jumps into the story, explaining that one day, she was feeling really sick and asked her now ex-boyfriend to pick up some cold medicine from CVS.

She explains that when they get home, he gives her the medicine, and she thanks him before taking it and falling asleep. The next morning, she wakes up and sees the notification that he sent her a Venmo request for the cost of the medicine.

In the video, she says,  "Like, OK, get your bag but like, at that point we've been dating for like four years."

She then describes how she prefers a relationship where neither of them keeps track of expenses and where she and her partner have an understanding of who buys what next.

Buying Something For Your Sick Significant Other Is The Bare Minimum, Many Viewers Said

Many viewers were angry and shocked that the woman’s boyfriend would even feel the need to ask her to pay him back, especially since they had been dating for almost half a decade.

Some commenters stated that it was normal for people to want to buy their significant others cold medicine when they are sick as a gesture of care, and to expect money in return for the act was both wrong and “slimy”.

Many users also expressed their disgust at this kind of response, stating that they could never view their boyfriend in the same light if he expected to be paid back for doing something kind for them. Something many of them thought should be the bare minimum in a relationship.

One commenter even explained that they would be willing to buy medicine just for a sick co-worker, so it makes the boyfriend’s response that much more of a head-scratcher.
