Tucker Carlson 14 Years Ago: "In the absence of any universally recognized standard or source of news, what happens?….All sorts of crazy conspiracy theories bloom and take the place of facts"

A viral video shows younger Tucker Carlson talking about freedom of the press and warning, "In the absence of any universally recognized standard or source of news, what happens?…. All sorts of crazy conspiracy theories bloom and take the place of facts."

Even further in history, in 2003, Carlson criticized Bill O’Reilly, an American conservative commentator, journalist, author, and host.

Carlson said, "O’Reilly’s success is built on the perception that he really is who he claims to be. If he ever gets caught out of character, it’s over. There’s deep phoniness at the center of his shtik.”

Both videos have over one million views and many juicy comments. They were posted right after the former Fox host shared his recap of the Capitol Riot in his January 6 Special.

The host, who was fired from Fox News, and now has his show on Twitter, is set to host the first forum with a handful of candidates for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Trump's appearance is doubtful.

This was confirmed in a tweet: "Blaze Media is teaming up with THE FAMiLY LEADER to bring you the first presidential forum of the 2024 Republican Primary season, hosted by Tucker Carlson."

Tucker Carlson's Twitter show viewership is declining, but this does not mean Carlson won't be back with a vengeance, especially with solid connections and his latest gig in the GOP primaries.

Social Media Users Rate Carlson As A Journalist

Tucker Carlson is still a household name in the US. However, many do not see him as a journalist but as "unadulterated propaganda with a dash of conspiracy." Experts say Fox News could face a “fairly strong" new lawsuit from a man Tucker Carlson frequently accused of operating as a government agent and carrying out the January 6 insurrection.

On Reddit, some shared, "Calling him a journalist implies that he actually does his own research and has some kind of relation with the truth. This man is a propagandist, nothing more."

Another member wrote, "He's really more of a televangelist - but for political beliefs rather than religious. His followers believe what he says without question."

The third chimed in, "He is a talk show entertainer. He is not and has never been a journalist. He doesn't, and never has, done anything remotely related to journalism. He was a pundit, then a shouting head, and is now a propagandist who is paid to misinform and anger idiots"

Twitter Is Also Not With Carlson

Twitter users also mocked Carlson's previous statements, with a person saying, "He predicted his own future…" Another shared, "Once they drink the Kool-Aid, there is no turning back."

Some recognized the truth in his statements, "Might be the only truthful thing Carlson ever said."

One person joked, "Ron Burgundy has more journalistic integrity than Tucker Carlson."

Another shared, "Oh my god, I agree with everything he says in that video clip, and yet somehow, after watching that clip, I despise him even more."

Someone added a clip where he talks about himself, saying, "I mean, I lie if I'm really cornered or something. I lie... I certainly do it, you know, out of weakness or whatever."

Carlson vs. Trump

On-screen, Carlson is a strong Trump apologist. But, in 1999, he wrote that Trump was "the single most repulsive person on the planet."

And, according to private texts currently circulating, his opinions have mostly stayed the same.

The alleged exchanges include Carlson’s text conversation with an unknown person on January 4, 2021. Addressing Trump’s four years as president, Carlson said, “We’re all pretending we’ve got a lot to show for it because admitting what a disaster it’s been is too tough to digest. But come on. There really isn’t an upside to Trump.”

So, who is the real Carlson? What do you think?
