Usually, the arbitrary dress codes established at these places are roped into the argument that it’s “too distracting to males”.

But not in this case, where a woman was dress-coded at an all-female gym because her leggings were apparently “distracting”.

In a TikTok video, Kerry Schwartz, who also goes by comfywith_kerry on TikTok, explained in a video that she was approached by the manager of an all-female gym she attend because her leggings were “distracting” other gymgoers and offending them.

She starts her story off by explaining that she had always struggled with “body dysmorphia” and “feeling comfortable in gyms” her entire life, and that the comments regarding her attire made her feel uncomfortable and embarrassed.

She shared a photo of what she was wearing which included a white sports bra and a yellow pair of leggings.

In her recount, the manager of the gym walked over to her and said in a very serious tone that they needed to have a chat.

That’s when it was revealed that other gymgoers were going up to the owner to complain about the TikToker’s leggings, claiming that they offended them.

Schwartz revealed that at first she felt shocked and confused, then felt embarrassed and even shamed. Now she “never wants to go back there again”.

She also pointed out that she wasn’t wearing anything that was inappropriate just because her leggings made her “assets stand out more”.

Overall, it was really upsetting experience for Schwartz as she only joined the gym to have a safe space designed specifically for women.

However, many users commented on her video in support, with many pointing out that nothing about her attire was inappropriate or offensive.
