“America Drains Your Soul”: Italian Man Says He Lives “Miserably” in America Despite Making a Six-Figure Income

While America has long been considered the land of better opportunities and dreams, some now argue that this is only true for the wealthy.

Italian TikToker Jashi (@jashiproject) has recently shared an intriguing perspective, arguing that only the rich believe that living in America is better than Europe.

“Only rich people say that America is better,” Jashi states, “Because if you’re poor you can barely make it”

As an Italian who comes from a country where the average annual salary is $25,000, Jashi believes that if someone were to secure a remote job as an American earning the average salary of $50,000 and move to Italy, they would enjoy a “rich man’s life.”

"Life in Italy is incomparably better"

According to him, life in Italy is incomparably better, citing examples like enjoying coffee on the beach and having “one of the best meals in your life” for only $10.

Adding to his argument, Jashi shares that despite making a six-figure income in America, he still lives “miserably” compared to the life he could have in Italy, even on a low income

He's not just talking about his house or similar possessions, but rather the overall quality of life in America, giving an example of the food that “sucks” in the country.

However, Jashi does admit that the main difference is that he can pursue his dreams in America, whereas in Italy, that's only possible if you're a millionaire.

He expressed why it's better to choose Italy if you have money

He believes that America is better for building something, but the lifestyle in Europe is definitely superior. So someone has enough money, it's better to live in Italy and pursue your dreams there.

The advantage of the system to those who are "broke"

Jashi notes that a potential advantage of living in America is that the system allows for those who are “broke” to make a comeback if they're curious and willing to put in 12 hours a day, which is something “inhuman” that most people can’t do in practice.

He then showed his TikTok analytics

He supports his argument with evidence from his TikTok analytics, which shows that 90% of his videos are about self-improvement and 10% are about “mundane bullsh*t.”

Jashi realizes that people prefer to be entertained and distracted

Drawing from these data, Jashi concludes that most people are more interested in being entertained and distracted from the 'misery' of their life, rather than trying to improve it.

“I know this sounds very bad,” Jashi says, “but it is a data-driven statement. “

Let's take a look at what viewers had to say

Many people resonated with Jashi's experience of feeling homesick in America. “💯 correct,” one agreed. “The best place to make money is NYC, and the best place to spend it is Italy.”

"America drains your soul"

A second shared, “My parents came from Australia, thinking about going back. America drains your soul.”

"Robbed of so many rights"

A third commented, “I am from Romania but I live in the US, and I miss my lifestyle from home soo much. They are being robbed of so many rights here.”

One commenter gave a helpful hack
