Gym is a powerhouse for building muscles, boosting confidence, and, of course, shedding lots of sweat. It's not uncommon for fitness enthusiasts to opt for minimalistic outfits to ensure maximum comfort during their intense workout sessions.
In a now-viral TikTok, however, one woman who sported a baby blue top to combat sweat at the gym was met with objection from another woman, who felt the need to confront her and firmly ask her to be “respectful” at this public place.
Awkward Encounter
In a brief 28-second clip that starts with the backdrop sound of "I can't believe I got this on video," TikToker Kylen Suttner (@kylensuttner) is seen at the gym taking a break from her workout and simply minding her own business.
While she was peacefully resting, her moment of relaxation is disrupted as a woman approaches her with an offended tone and asks, “Do you really think you can walk around the gym wearing that?”
Confronted for Her Top
Taken aback by the question, Kylen responds with confusion, "What?"
The woman, in a firm tone, says, “Your top. Do you really think you can walk around the gym wearing that? Your b..bs are hanging out”
She goes on to explain to Kylen, “We’re in a public place. Can you be respectful?”
Too Stunned To Speak
Kylen, taken aback by the request, responds in disbelief, “Are you kidding me?" The woman reaffirms her stance, saying, “No. We’re in a public place. Do you not see everyone around you? No one wants to look at your b..bs hanging out”
She then asks the woman to leave her alone politely, saying “I’m fine thank you” but get met with the response “Well, I don’t think you are. Put a shirt on next time”
Kylen was left utterly shocked by the incident, to the extent that she no longer wants to set foot in the gym. In the caption of the video, she humoursly wrote, “Guess it’s time to build a home gym.”

Insecurities Exposed?
The confrontation between Kylen and the woman at the gym over her clothing choice left viewers astonished, with many praising Kylen's composed reaction and applauded her for not responding harshly to the woman's remarks. Others suggested that the woman's behavior was just a reflection of her own “insecurities.”
“She probably caught her man looking & got mad,” one viewer suggested, “girl you look just fine.”
“Why she staring then?” a second wondered.
“You handled that really well,” a third praised. “I would’ve lost it on her.”

Regardless of your stance on whether Kylen's top earned that woman's remark or not, it was her calm demeanor that spared everyone from unnecessary gym drama.
Perhaps this woman will think twice before commenting on women’s gym tops again. After all, a little more understanding and a lot less judgment can go a long way in creating a harmonious workout environment.
