Kids don't hold back, and when they unleash their brutally honest remarks on adults, they are often unaware of the embarrassment that their supposedly innocent words can cause, especially for their parents.
A recent viral TikTok video shared by Jen (@daisy232713) perfectly illustrates this, featuring an innocent toddler telling his daycare teacher that his mom is sick because of a hangover.

The clip then transitions to footage of her toddler standing, exuding pure innocence, as he plays with a colorful toy. A voice from behind the camera asks the little guy, "Where's mommy?"

It seems like the toddler, speaking in his innocent voice, is telling the woman that his mom is sick. The woman off-camera then questions, "Mommy's sick? Why?"

"Because," the little guy says. "Why?" the woman off-camera repeats the question. "Because," he says again. "What does she have?" the daycare worker asks.

The kid then spills the beans when the woman asked him why his mommy was sick, but he reveals something that his mommy wouldn't particularly appreciate later. He innocently says as he turns to the camera, "Um, a hangover."

The not-so-innocent TikTok clip has gone viral on the platform, amassing over 2.8 million views and 192,900 likes as of July 16th, with many viewers left shocked by the raw honesty of this toddler. A person who could possibly relate to the brutal honesty of toddlers even commented, “I always told my sons teachers ‘I won’t believe everything he says about you if you don’t believe everything he says about me.’”
Daddy Takes Kid To Bar

Several viewers took the opportunity to recount their own funny encounters with the outrageous things their kids revealed to teachers and babysitters. Among the comments, one user shared, "My nephew told his teacher he didn’t do his homework because his daddy took him to the bar….but it was ok because it wasn’t the bar with the pole."

Another viewer shared a reminder for parents who work at bars that telling little ones about their job at a very young age can be a big mistake. "My son told his 3rd grade teacher mom is always at the bar. I worked there! Lol," they wrote.

One parent seemed to discover the importance of keeping their meal schedule under wraps or at least teaching their kids how to provide proper context, which so far seems like a hard-to-reach goal. The commenter recounted, "Haha I definitely told my preschool teacher that my mom drinks wine for breakfast. my dad had to clarify my mom works graveyard dispatch lol.”
‘Epic’ Crack House Story

Another story shared by viewers, which the OP described as "epic," left a parent feeling incredibly embarrassed. They recounted, “Mine told his teacher, he didn’t want to go home to that crack house. Our house was built in 1900 and plaster walls crack.”

The kids seem to enjoy them so much that one of them goes as far as labeling them as the only thing worthy of being called "food." An embarrassed parent shared, “In first grade My daughter told her teacher we ‘had no food at home’ because I forgot to buy lunchables 1 time!!"

At the end of the day, it seems like everyone agrees that kids have a knack to embarrass their parents and speak blunt truths to their loved ones, teachers, or even random people they've never met before – they don't discriminate.
