Man Fumes at a Driver Parking in an Empty Parking Lot Because "People Need the Spots"

It seems like there was this one man who just couldn't stand the sight of someone parking in an empty lot. And what did this person have the “audacity” to do? He asked the guy parking to leave for absolutely no compelling reason.

No matter how harmless one may be in this world, there will always be someone who tries to invade your privacy and bother you without any apparent reason. You could be minding your own business, going about your day with the purest of intentions, and out of nowhere, this unwelcome intrusion occurs.

Indeed, it is exactly the scenario that unfolded for a young man who was simply going about his business, parking his vehicle in a completely empty parking lot. Out of nowhere, a total stranger suddenly appeared and started complaining about the young man's parking spot.

In a TikTok video that has now gone viral, content creator Dutch (@dutchdeccc) recalled an encounter he had with a random man who he felt had overstepped his boundaries.

Dutch captioned the post with a simple yet strong phrase, "The AUDACITY."

Amazed By the Rich and City Folks

“The audacity of rich people or people in the city will never fail to amaze me,” the TikToker shares with viewers. “I’m parked in this public parking lot right now. It's the off-season. And even if it wasn’t, I have the correct stickers to park here.”

Continuing his story, Dutch described how a complete stranger approached his car, knocked on the window, and asked him why he was in the parking lot at this moment. “What are you doing?” he questioned. 

Quick Response to the Unexpected Question

Caught off guard by the unexpected question in an unlikely place from a total stranger, Dutch recounts, “I roll the window down a crack and say, 'I’m on the phone.'”

Unfazed and Unbothered

The man pointed out to Dutch that he had been parked there for quite a while, to which Dutch casually responded, “'Oh OK,' because unbothered is what I am.”

In an attempt to get Dutch to leave, the man claimed that he shouldn't park there unless he was actively using the beach, emphasizing that "people need the spots."

Caught Off Guard

Dutch was completely taken aback by the man's remark "People need the spots," as he pointed his camera towards an entirely empty spot that nobody was using. In a bewildered tone, Dutch asked, "People need the spots?"

Dutch, determined to defend his right to park in the clearly empty spot, recounts “So I cut him off and I say, ‘You work for the government?’” To which the man replied, "No."

“So I roll up my window. He was bamboozled,” he continues.

The TikToker believes that as soon as the man heard his voice and noticed his mannerisms, he would probably think that Dutch would simply go along with his requests without putting up any defense. 

“But I grew up gay in the New York City public school system,” Dutch explains, emphasizing that this had a significant impact on shaping his strong personality.

“Disrespectful” Phrase Ensures the Man Leaves

The TikToker concludes his video by sharing that since the man persisted even when he rolled up the window, Dutch made him leave by using a "disrespectful" and "rude" phrase.

As the random man began talking negatively about Dutch's generation, accusing them of being disrespectful and rude, Dutch took a straightforward approach that made the man immediately leave – he rolled down his window and simply retorted, "Your mother."

Viewers were equally taken aback as Dutch by the random man's attempt to make him leave the parking spot, which left them feeling satisfied that Dutch stood his ground. They believed that sometimes it is necessary to be a bit disrespectful in order to make certain individuals understand and get the point across. 

One viewer commented, stating, "Your mother" will always be a great response," while another viewer agreed, adding, "Your mother".... iconic."

Respecting  the “Leave Me Alone” Zone

At the end of the day, no matter how one could think about it, it's hard to figure out why this random man found issues with Dutch parking there in an empty spot. Maybe he isn't a big fan of the TikToker? Perhaps he somehow likes to see the parking completely empty? Or maybe he just doesn't like Dutch’s generation and was just taking the chance to accuse younger people of being disrespectful? 

Regardless of the man's motivation for making an unreasonable request, it's safe to say that everyone wishes to live in a world where people know how to respect others' privacy and simply leave them alone.
