A white therapist was recently fired after being caught on camera confronting a Black man about fishing in his own neighborhood in Georgia. She was seen "harassing" the fisherman who had permission to be there since his father is a homeowner in the gated community.
Black Fisherman Confronts Doubtful Neighbors Over Lake Access
Anthony Gibson, who has several social media channels where he shares memes and fishing clips, made waves online by sharing a series of videos where he confronted white neighbors who don’t believe he has permission to fish in the lake within his neighborhood.
Locals in the Columbus, Georgia neighborhood have confronted Gibson on multiple occasions, questioning whether he had permission to fish at the lake and asserting that the lake is reserved solely for residents.
Online records reviewed by Daily Mail indicate that Gibson's father is registered as a homeowner in the gated community where the incident occurred. According to the community's regulations, Gibson was granted permission to fish in the lake without a license, given that he was a guest of one of the residents.

Viral Confrontation Leads to White Therapist's Firing
In the viral video, which garnered over 11 million views and 968,400 likes since its posting, a woman identified as Tanya by her employer, Sea Glass Therapy, can be seen approaching Gibson and his friend, asking, "How are you?"
After they greet the woman, she proceeds to ask, "Are you guys residents in any way?"
In response, Gibson's friend retorts, "Are we bothering you in any way?"
Tanya then responds, "I just have to ask."
The friend responds, "Don't talk to me."
Tanya persists, "This lake is for residents only. So..."
She then threatens that she will take a picture of their license plates and “forward it on."
With the camera in his hands, Gibson says to viewers, “OK, so this is what I go through. This is the third person. I'm in my own neighborhood, and a white person came and bothered me while I am fishing. Another white person bothered me while I was fishing.”
Seeing her walk away, Gibson raises his voice, exclaiming, “'Hey, don't leave now! Do you live here? Where's your address? This is unbelievable.”
He asks for her name, mentioning "the next meeting," and then starts recording her license plate.
Therapy Clinic Takes Action Following Viral Video
According to Daily Mail, the woman featured in the viral video was fired from her position at a therapy clinic in Newnan.
In a statement on Facebook, the clinic expressed its values, stating, “Sea Glass Therapy is a place of acceptance, healing, and inclusion of all people regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or background.”
The statement continues, “We stand against discrimination of all forms. We have terminated our business relationship with the Independent contractor, Tanya, in order to uphold our values and standards.”
“We strive to be a service to our community and do whatever we can to accommodate the needs of it, operating with integrity.”
Documented Racial Encounters in White-Dominated Neighborhood
Gibson has recorded previous incidents where he encountered local residents, and he and his friends assert that the affluent white community finds it difficult to accept the existence of a group of Black people within their neighborhood.
"I'm numb to it," Gibson expressed to The Independent.
Later that same day, Gibson recorded a video of a white man who identified himself as John and claimed to be a member of the Home Owners' Association board. John approached them and inquired about their residency in the community.

They requested John to provide his address, which he shared. However, they refused to share their own address.
In the comments on his video, Gibson expressed his belief, saying, "I think she literally called him for help."
Embracing the Good
Despite such incidents, Gibson stated that he was pleased with his decision to move into the Windermere at Springwater Plantation neighborhood because of its peaceful atmosphere and the presence of a pleasant fishing lake.
“It’s in a good neighborhood, there’s no gunshots, we’re living good, we’re living the high life,” said. “The high life comes with a price if you have a whole bunch of privileged people around you.”
